Overview

This region of 73 employees provides a variety of specialized probation and parole services for the greater Albuquerque metropolitan area and surrounding Counties. The region includes the Intensive Supervision Units, Sex Offender Unit, Community Corrections Unit, Drug Court, Los Lunas district office, Bernalillo and Rio Rancho district office.

The Intensive Supervision districts provide very close supervision to the region's most dangerous criminals. The districts' objective is to minimize the risk to the community by closely monitoring these cases while requiring extensive counseling and treatment. This Unit also supervises higher-ranking gang members and in addition, houses two High Risk Officers.

The Sex Offender Unit supervises probation and parolees who are sex offenders living in Bernalillo County.

The Community Corrections Units supervise probation and parolees who are considered high need and houses the Gender Specific Female Officer.

The Drug Court district supervises drug-involved offenders who are typically having their first encounter with the criminal justice system. It is the strategy of Drug Court to provide a stepped-up level of supervision and treatment to reduce the likelihood of recidivism.

The Los Lunas District supervises offenders on parole or probation who live in Valencia County. It houses a Community Corrections Officer, a Sex Offender Officer, the Institutional Probation Parole Officer and standard supervision.

Bernalillo Distrct Office supervises probation and parolees living in Sandoval County who are sex offenders, high-risk offenders or Community Corrections.

Rio Rancho supervises stanard offenders on probation and parole who are living in Sandoval County.
